— More than 1 and a half dozen people were killed in a suspected “terror attack” at a downtown Chattanooga restaurant on Sunday night, authorities said.
A witness told WTVF-TV that he heard “multiple shots.”
The Chattanooga Police Department identified the victims as Thomas Jones, 63, of Tennessee; his wife, Amy, 47; and his son, James, 17.
Police said they are still searching for a suspect, but said they were unsure if any motive had been determined.
Witnesses said the two brothers had just finished their dinner at the Red Lobster restaurant on South Broadway when shots were fired.
The brothers ran into the restaurant’s patio, but were soon apprehended by officers.
Authorities did not identify the brothers.
The Chattanooga Times Free Press identified James Jones as a corrections officer and the couple as an accountant and a teacher.
Police say the incident happened at the same time as the Tennessee Basketball Tournament in the city, and that the suspect was armed.
