NEW DELHI: A top Cabinet position is expected to be filled in the next four years, the Indian government said on Tuesday.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is expected on Thursday to name the cabinet of the next government.
This will be followed by the inauguration of the new government, the government said in a statement.
There is no official word on the appointment of ministers, the statement said.
The next four-year term of government will start on May 9.
A number of top government leaders are expected to become ministers.
Among them is Arvind Sawant, the Socialist-led left-wing candidate in the 2018 Delhi elections, who has led protests against the government.
The AAP’s Delhi government has faced intense criticism from all quarters and the Opposition for the way it has handled the police killing of a student.
The AAP is the main opposition party.
