Trump said he had been “loved” by many in Australia, which has been rocked by the coronavirus pandemic and fears it could lead to a major wave of refugees fleeing the US.

“It’s an amazing thing to hear,” he said.

“I have been very pleased with the Australian people.”

Trump told the BBC he hoped to speak to the Australian prime minister later this week to discuss Australia’s handling of the pandemic.

“He’s a very, very tough, tough guy,” Trump said.

“But I think we will get along.

I think it will work out very nicely.”

Australia has been grappling with a major outbreak of coronaviruses, which have been spreading rapidly in Australia and other parts of the world.

The United States, which already hosts more than 70,000 cases, is on its third wave of cases, and Australia has been hit hardest.

More than 7,000 people have died in Australia from coronaviral diseases since the beginning of the year, while more than 100 Australians have died from the virus in the past week alone.

Australia’s health minister, Peter Dutton, has admitted Australia has a problem with coronavirence.

Dutton told a parliamentary inquiry last week that the country is on track to meet its own targets for coronavires.

Australia has set up a new coronavillosis response unit to help fight the outbreak.
