Posted November 19, 2018 15:00:04 A Sydney woman is facing charges after her daughter was killed and her husband and another man were shot during an alleged drug-related attack in an east suburban home.
The mother of 19-year-old Khaliel Abdullah was arrested in her suburban Melbourne home on Thursday morning and was taken into custody on Friday morning, according to police.
Police said Khaliels father was in critical condition in hospital after he was shot in the chest.
The man was also shot in his back.
The alleged attack happened at a home on Northside Drive and Eastmoreland Street about 4:30 a.m. on Thursday.
Khaliell Abdullah was shot at close range and pronounced dead at the scene.
The 19-month-old was the only one in the home at the time of the shooting, police said.
The two men were taken to a local hospital in critical but stable condition.
Police are still searching for the other men who were not at the home.
“This was a drug-involved incident,” police said in a statement.
The home, located in the town of Creswell, was on lockdown after the shooting.
A neighbor told ABC News the home was usually empty on Friday but she said it was usually filled with people when it was open.
“There’s no one around,” the neighbor said.
Khaliel, who is from the Greater Melbourne area, was killed in the attack.
Police believe she and the two men who fled the scene were in a vehicle, which police have not yet identified.
Police are investigating the shooting as an attempted drug-induced homicide, ABC News reported.
The woman was taken to the hospital and was being questioned. ABC/wires
